1. Proposal Overview
This proposal suggests modifying the maximum staking limit per node in the NULS network, aiming to enhance network performance, improve node service quality, and promote overall network stability .
2. Motivation
Currently, the NULS network imposes a 500,000 NULS staking limit per node. However, as the ecosystem grows, this limitation may hinder node operators’ ability to provide high-quality network services.
Key reasons for adjustment:
• Enhanced network performance: Allowing nodes to stake more NULS can incentivize better infrastructure investment, leading to improved block validation speed and efficiency.
• Increased stability: Encouraging long-term staking and reducing unnecessary node churn enhances the reliability of the network.
• Higher-quality nodes: With a higher limit, competitive node operators can upgrade their hardware, optimize their services, and support a more robust network.
3. Proposed Change
We propose modifying the maximum staking limit per node from 500,000 NULS to a new, more flexible limit. The exact new limit can be determined based on community discussion and technical evaluations. My suggestion is that 2,000,000 NULS is a more reasonable amount.
4. Potential Impact
• Encourages long-term participation from high-quality node operators.
• Reduces the number of underperforming nodes , leading to a more efficient and stable network.
• Aligns with the growth of the NULS ecosystem, ensuring the network remains scalable and adaptable.
5. Next Steps
• Community discussion on the optimal new limit.
• Technical feasibility analysis and implementation plan.
• Governance voting to approve the change.
This proposal aims to foster a stronger, more reliable, and high-performance NULS network. We invite the NULS community to provide feedback and collaborate on the best way forward.
